The Journey: Early morning pickup in Manali. Drive through the famous Atal Tunnel into Lahaul Valley and ascend over the dramatic Kunzum Pass. Descend into the moonscape terrain of Spiti Valley to reach Kaza (11,980 ft). Check into your cozy boutique stay and rest to acclimatize.

Day 2: Key Monastery & Kibber Village (14,200 ft)

Today's Highlights: Visit to 1,000-year-old Key Monastery and the high mountain bridge at Chicham.

The Journey: Visit the famous Key Monastery, the largest center of Buddhist learning in Spiti Valley. Drive up to Kibber Village, one of the highest permanently inhabited villages in the world, and cross the spectacular Chicham Bridge suspended over a deep gorge.

Day 3: World's Highest Post Office at Hikkim & Langza Fossils

Today's Highlights: Post a letter from Hikkim (14,567 ft) and view the giant Buddha statue at Langza.

The Journey: Drive up to Hikkim to send a postcard home from the highest post office in the world! Proceed to Langza, famous for its giant golden Buddha statue overlooking the snow peaks and prehistoric marine fossils embedded in the soil.

Day 4: Dhankar Monastery & Tabo Mummy (1,000-Year Heritage)

Today's Highlights: Cliffside Dhankar Monastery overlooking river confluence and ancient frescoes in Tabo.

The Journey: Explore Dhankar Monastery, dramatically balanced on a razor-sharp cliff edge. Drive to Tabo Village to visit the "Ajanta of the Himalayas"—Tabo Monastery, founded in 996 AD, containing ancient murals and the preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk at Gue.

Day 5: Camping at Chandratal (The Moon Lake)
